Labor market studies would confuse even King Solomon. Things seem a little topsy-turvy in Canada. We are experiencing a very low unemployment rate, which is good. On the other hand, job vacancies have increased. Second Quarter, 2018 shows a job vacancy rate of 3.1%. The Canadian Federation of Independent Business Help Wanted Report notes this is the highest vacancy rate observed in the last 14 years. Approximately 400,000 jobs have been vacant for four months.
